BB resets prices of commemorative gold, silver coins

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has reset the prices of commemorative gold and silver coins citing a price hike of the metals in local and international markets.

The prices of gold coins issued on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day 2000, Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence have been increased to Taka 1,00,000 each.

Besides, the prices of silver coins which were issued marking the Silver Jubilee of Bangladesh’ independence, silver jubilee of Bangladesh Bank, inauguration of Bangabandhu Bridge, 40th Victory Day of Bangladesh, 90 years of “Bidrohi” poem, 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, centennial commemoration of Bangladesh National Museum, Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-Japan diplomatic relations and ‘Padma Bridge-Symbol of Nation’s Glory’ have been hiked to Tk 6000 each.
