A massive media centre with modern facilities has been set up at International Media Centre (IMC) to facilitate foreign and local media personnel for uninterrupted coverage of the G20 Leaders’ Summit-2023.
The centre has added yet another feather in India’s ability to host the mega global event being held at the newly inaugurated the State-of-Art Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan in the Indian capital.
Spread over two huge floors, the media centre is hosting more than 2000 media personnel from home and abroad. There are 1300 work stations and over 400 laptops with high speed wifi connection for use of journalists.
Huge digital screens were installed on the walls so that journalists could watch the live part of the mega G20 Summit.
Several printers were also kept ready so media persons could take print of necessary documents.
Apart from these, it has a specious international broadcast centre and special media booths have been set up for prominent local and international media outlets which have been requested earlier for availing the facilities.
Media lounges have been provided along with information kiosks and the help desk. A Medical team has been working round the clock to address any emergency.
The work zones were named after various rivers which flow inside India. They are Indus, Narmada, Krishna, Cauvery and Yamuna.
Besides, authorities provide foods for the media contingent along with tea, coffee and other beverages. Adequate washroom facilities are put in place outside the media centre. Cleanliness of media centre also attracted the journalist covering the event. (BSS)
