The Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus has worn an eye catching greenery look with the touch of spring as trees bloom abundantly , making the campus area colorful and vibrant , enlightening everyone’s heart .
Spring flowers with sweet scents have added a unique spectrum of colors and a divine look to the nature of the university campus with greenery all-around after the departure of winter.
Anybody can witness and enjoy the sight-beholding loveliness of a fair of colors, the chirping of birds and the enthralling fragrance are all-around in the campus amidst a pleasing environment.
On the roadside, next to the field or in front of the administrative building and residential halls, various colorful flowers bloom, giving the campus a dreamy look. In particular, the bright red hue of roses shines like a flame of fire.
Along with this, the radiant presence of flowers of various colors including marigolds, jumbo marigolds, calendulas, petunias, native salvias, hybrid roses, chrysanthemums, dianthus, dahlias, roses, cockscombs and sunflowers creates a festive atmosphere there.
Spring not only brings life to plants and humans, but animals and birds also take on their best form at this time in the campus.
Doves, Doyel (Magpie-robin), Shalik (Commom-myna), Tuntuni (Tailorbird) and various types of indigenous birds sit on the trees of the campus. Their chirping calls, along with the laughter and joy of the students, create a heavenly environment.
The movement of butterflies, the buzzing of bees and the fragrance of flowers spreading in the air make nature even livelier.

Talking to BSS, a number of students, teachers, officials and employees of the university said that spring returns, coloring the campus with new colors and new life every year.
Decorated with spring flowers, this campus has now become a dreamland of love, creation, and enthusiasm, which remains forever indelible in the memories of students.
In the open courtyard of the campus, singing, poetry recitation, and spring festivals in the spring atmosphere become one of the students’ entertainments.
Not only students, but also visitors come to enjoy the beauty of the campus with their friends and family. They take pictures with flowers and frame their memories.
Student Md Shamsur Rahman Suman of the Department of Bengali said that the campus is now decorated with different types of flowers.
From a distance, it looks like a flower garden. Butterflies and smaller insects are sitting. The scenes are very beautiful all-around.
Injured July uprising soldier Tawhidul Haque Siam, a third-year BBA student in the Management Information Systems Department of the university said, “The different types of flowers have made the campus more attractive with eye-catching looks”
Whenever Siam is sad, he comes to the campus. Being with the nature of the campus makes his mind feel better again.
Rafiul Islam, a former student of the university while visiting the campus said that this university is a place of emotion for all of us, where Abu Sayeed was martyred in the July Uprising in police firing.
“When I visited the university and saw different types of flowers today, it seems that real spring has come to the campus, but Abu Sayeed is no more,” he added.
He urged the university authority to keep the campus flowering round the year and name the flowering campus with greenery all-around after Shaheed Abu Sayeed, who has glorified the university and heroism of the nation.
Director of the Office of the External Affairs of the university Professor Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman told BSS that steps have been taken to plant flower gardens in different parts of the campus with the advice of Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali.
“The Vice-chancellor has instructed us to make the university environment more student-friendly, attractive, suitable for studying and creating a pleasant environment,” he said.
“Accordingly, we have taken the initiative to plant 20 species of flowers and have planted several species of flowers. The remaining species of flowers will be planted in the vacant spaces in phases across the campus,” he added. (BSS)
