2,000 blankets distributed among cold-hit people in Panchagarh

A total of 2,000 blankets were distributed
among the poor, cold-hit people in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

On behalf of Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination
Students Movement and general secretary of July Shaheed Smrity Foundation,
the blankets were distributed at a function that was held at the premises of
Sadar Harivasha and Kajoldigi Union Parishad (UP) here.

Surjis Alam addressed the event through an audio conference.

He said, “People of Panchagarh are suffering in the winter season due to
severe cold but it will be possible to mitigate their suffering from cold by
our joint efforts.”

Surjis urged the rich and influential people in the society to stand beside
the cold-affected poor people for reducing their suffering.

Harivasha UP Chairman Nur-e-Alam, Public Procecutor (PP) of District Session
Judge Court Advocate Adom Sufi, Surjis’s Father Aktaruzzaman Saju, district
coordinator of anti-discrimination students’ movement Fajle Rabbi and its
other activists were present, among others. (BSS)
