UK economy grows 0.2% in January after December contraction: data

Britain’s economy rebounded into slender growth in January after sliding into recession late last year, monthly official data showed Wednesday.

Gross domestic product grew 0.2 percent following a slight 0.1-percent decline in December, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. First-quarter expansion would signal the end of a technical recession. (BSS/AFP)
