Former president of Dhaka Bar Association Advocate Israfil passes away

Former president of Dhaka Bar Association Advocate Alhaj Mohammad Israfil died of old-age complications today at his Purana Paltan residence.

He was 80.

“He breathed his last at around 6.15 am,” his grandson Advocate Mohammad Anisul Haque Emran said.

Mohammad Israfil, a senior advocate of Supreme Court, was the president of Dhaka Bar Association from March, 2003, to February, 2004. He was also the chairman of Enrollment Committee and Relief Committee of Bangladesh Bar Council from 2008 to 2011.

He left behind only daughter, son-in- law, grand children and a host of relatives, well wishers and admirers to mourn his death.

Alhaj Mohammad Israfil will be buried at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard after namaz-e-janaza after Zohr prayers in Purana Paltan Jame Masjid. (BSS)
