Minor child killed in Chapainawabganj road accident

A four-year-old child was killed
in a road accident at Harinagar bridge on the Sonamasjid-Chapainawabganj highway in the district on Saturday evening.

The victim was identified as Arafat, son of Nayeem of Dhorbona village under Shibganj upazila in the district.

Police and local sources said the accident occurred when a truck hailing from Sonamasjid land port ran over Arafat while he was crossing the road in the area with his mother around 6 pm, leaving his dead on the spot.

Rapid Action Battalion detained the truck driver from Savar thana in Dhaka at 8am today.

Later, the elite force handed him over to the police of Shibganj thana. (BSS)
