Sewing machines, bicycles distributed in Jhenaidah

A total of 153 sewing machines and 90 bicycles were distributed among the poor women and meritorious students  in the auditorium of the Zilla Parishad today.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Dr M Harun-Or-Rashid handed over the sewing machines and bicycles among the poor women and meritorious students as the chief guest under the initiative of Jhenaidah Zilla Parishad.

Assistant Engineer Md Rafiqul Islam, C A Sheikh Shafi Uddin, Sheikh Lokman Hossain Apple and Zilla Parishad women reserved member Anita Biswas, among others, were present.

Rahela Begum, who got a sewing machine, said “I hope prosperity will return to my family by doing sewing work.”

Umm Kulsum, a schoolgirl, who got a bicycle said, “I can go to school regularly now.” (BSS)
