1,935 farmers get incentive for Aman farming in Bhola

A total of 1,935 small and marginal farmers in Lalmohan upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agriculture incentive for the cultivation of Aman paddy in the current season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Aman cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have been increased significantly in the current financial year 2023-24 in the district.

The incentive distribution function was held on the Lalmohan Upazila Parishad premise this morning.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) officer Md. Ahsanullah, UP Chairman Abul Kashem, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Upazila Agriculture Office sources said that seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among the 1,300 farmers to increase the production of high quality Aman paddy and each farmer was given 5 kgs of seeds, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizers and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) free of cost for cultivating Aman paddy on one bigha of land.

Besides, five coconut saplings were given to 635 farmers each free of cost, sources said. (BSS)
