Safe food mandatory for building smart Bangladesh -Speakers

Speakers in a discussion meeting said, safe food must be ensured for building smart Bangladesh

Chpapainawabganj district administration and Chapainawabganj district Food Safety Authority (BFSA) jointly organised the meeting at the conference room of the deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj on Wednesday with the theme ‘The Role of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority in Building Smart Bangladesh.’

It was held with the additional deputy commissioner (General) of Chapainawabganj Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam in the chair.

Deputy commissioner (DC) of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan attended the meeting as the chief guest while chairman of Chapainawabganj Zila Parishad valiant freedom fighter Md. Ruhul Amin attended it as special guest.

Additional district magistrate Asif Ahmed presented the concept paper under the heading ‘The Role of Safe Food for Tourism Industry.’

Among others, valiant freedom fighter Advocate Abdus Samad, district livestock officer Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, district fishery officer Mahbubur Rahman, additional deputy director of the Department of Agriculture Extension Masud Ahmed and district food safety officer Md. Abdullah Al Mamun spoke on the occasion.

Upholding the prospect of tourism in the country the speakers said, with a view to attracting the foreign tourists safe food must be ensured.

The speakers also stressed on preventing death by adulterated food and removing health hazards by controlling the quality of food in the hotels and restaurants, monitoring markets, conducting mobile courts, bringing the guilty people under law and using scientific methods for producing safe food.

With a view to building Smart Bangladesh by 2041 as was declared by the prime minister Sheikh Hasina the speakers mentioned the four pillars like smart citizen, smart society, smart economy and smart government.

The DC stressed on concerted efforts to ensure safe food. (BSS)
