Country witnesses ‘vote festival’: Nasrul Hamid

Awami League (AL) candidate of Dhaka-3 constituency Nasrul Hamid today said a “vote festival” is continuing across the country.

“All, especially new voters, are excited to exercise their franchise. I visited various centers in my constituency since morning,” he said after casting his vote at 11 am at Doleswar Government Primary School center here.

Nasrul Hamid said standing in long queues, the maximum voters are voting for their favorite candidates, adding, “The 12th Jatiya Sangsad election proved once again that common people rejected BNP and its alliance and stood against arson attacks and terrorists activities.”

“Ruling Awami League is a traditional party…development and prosperity were the AL’s gift for the people during the last 15 years. So, people are going to the polling centers rejecting the opposition quarters”, he told journalists.

BNP is afraid of polls as the people have no faith in that party, Nasrul Hamid said, adding BNP and their allies are boycotting the elections and holding various programmes creating huge sufferings for the people.

He expressed hope that the attendance of voters will increase as the day progresses.

Since the polling started at 8 am, a significant number of voters visited various centers of Dhaka-3 Constituency. (BSS)
