AL to emphasize on science to implement Smart Bangladesh

Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has pledged to put more importance on language, higher mathematics, and science education at secondary and higher secondary levels to implement Smart Bangladesh.

“Appropriate laboratories for science education will be expanded to the village level. Special Scholarships are being awarded to meritorious science and mathematics students,” she said while declaring the AL’s election manifesto in a city hotel today ahead of the next general elections to be held on January 7.

She said appropriate curriculum formulation and implementation has been undertaken to modernize Madrasa education,

The stipend will continue to increase in line with the expansion of women’s education, Sheikh Hasina said adding the access to higher education for the Children of poor and weaker communities will be further expanded.

She said her government is working relentlessly to develop skilled human resources imbued by the spirit of the Liberation War and possessing humane qualities and richness in science and technology to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

If elected, the Awami League Government will devote itself to pursuing and implementing the education policy goals mentioned in Article 17 of the Constitution, she said.

The development of education imparts momentum to development activities, overall national development, and poverty alleviation, she said.

Based on this belief, Awami League will increase the budget allocation for the education sector and ensure its effective use, she added.

Sheikh Hasina said the proportion of female teachers in primary and secondary education will continue to increase gradually. (BSS)
