President for disseminating Liberation War spirit to new generation

President Mohammed Shahabuddin today urged the leaders of Sector Commanders’ Forum to disseminate the spirit of the great Liberation War to the present and future generations.

“Disseminate the Liberation War spirit to new generation… Let them know the country’s actual history,” the President said when the Forum’s executive president Nurul Alam and its secretary general writer and journalist Harun Habib paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here.

The Head of the State asked the representatives of the Sector Commanders’ Forum to continue a campaign to create public opinion from the grassroots to the international levels to get the international recognition of the 1971 genocide in Bangladesh.

President Shahabuddin, also a valiant freedom fighter, said the Liberation War and the subsequent victory in 1971 was is a golden chapter in the history of the Bengali nation.

During the meeting, the valiant freedom fighters apprised the President of the overall activities and work plan of the “Sector Commanders’ Forum – Liberation War ’71”, the President’s press secretary told BSS after the meeting.

They informed the President that the Sector Commanders’ Forum is working at the national and international levels to get international recognition of the 1971 genocide.

Secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban were present.
