Italy to host G7 summit in June 2024

Italy will host next year’s Group of Seven summit in June at a luxury hotel that made its name for staging Justin Timberlake’s wedding, authorities announced Friday.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a social media video that the summit would be held on June 13-15 at the Borgo Enazia hotel in the southern region of Puglia.

Italy takes over the presidency of the industrialised nations group — made up of the United States, Japan, Germany, Canada, Italy, France and Britain — on January 1.

Borgo Enazia is on the Adriatic coast between Bari and Brindisi. It staged the 2012 marriage of US pop star and producer Timberlake to the actress Jessica Biel. (BSS/AFP)
