JS body for completing MRT Line-1, 5 and northern routes in time

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Transport and Bridges Ministry today praised the work progress of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project’s Line-1, Line-5 and northern route and recommended completing the works within the specified time.

The recommendation was made in the 20th meeting of the committee with its Chairman Rowshan Ara Mannan in the chair, said a press release.

Committee Members Enamul Haque, Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq , Mohammad Salim Uddin Tarafdar, Sheikh Salahuddin and Rabeya Alim joined the meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.

The probe report of number 4 sub-committee of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Transport and Bridges Ministry was presented in the meeting.

In the report, no involvement of illegal financial transactions was found against the accused persons.

Secretaries of the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry, BRTA and BRTC chairmen, Dhaka BRT Company Limited managing director, Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) executive director, Roads and Highways Department chief engineer, Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project’s Line-1 and Line-2 project directors, senior officials of the ministry and Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were present in the meeting.
