Not only curbing militancy, terrorism, recovering illegal weapons, controlling drugs, sensational murders, rape, extortion and piracy, but also the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has also engaged in humanitarian activities across the country.
As part of the humanitarian campaign, RAB Director General M Khurshid Hossain gave Tk. 2 lakh to Md Murad Hossain Sifat and took responsibility for Sifat’s education up to SSC level.
He also admitted Sifat’s mother Shilpi Khatun to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for better treatment and instructed his subordinates for taking care of her.
Khurshid Hossain got the news when a media outlet published a minor school boy Sifat and his struggle life from dawn to school time for surviving.
Touching the story of Sifat’s struggle, whose day starts at 5 am at a tea stall in the local market for 2 hours against the remuneration of Tk 50, the RAB DG brought Sifat, a student of class-IV to a local school and his ailing mother to the RAB Headquarters.
He talked with them and assured of providing all sorts of support for Sifat’s education, family expenses and treatment of his mother.
Sifat’s mother Most Shilpi Khatun from Kamaorkhand area of Sirajganj district, when Sifat was 4 months old, her husband Masud Rana died. After the death of her husband, she works in different houses for money to bear the expenses of her son’s education.
“The RAB has also been engaging for social activities and gaining people’s trust,” RAB DG M Khurshid Hossain said, while giving financial support to Md Murad Hossain Sifat at its headquarters.
Since its inception, the RAB has been fighting against militants, narcotics, illegal weapons, ammunition recovery, sensational murders, rape, extortion, terrorists and gaining confidence of people.
It has also been involved in distribution of winter clothes among the needy prople, white stick to the visually impaired persons and stood beside of the people of different natural disasters and calamities.
During the financial support giving, RAB Legal and Media wing director Commander Khandkar Al Moin and other high officials were present. (BSS)
