Jama’atul Ansar ameer among 3 held in Munshiganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons including the ameer of the new armed group Jama’atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya from Baranopara village under Louhajang upazila of the district early hours of today.

ASP ANM Imran Khan, Assistant Director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing, confirmed the information.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at the house of Anwara Begum of the village around 3am and arrested them, he said.

He said three members including Ameer Md Anisur Rahman of Jama’atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya have been arrested.

During the drive local and foreign firearms, bomb-making equipment, extremist pamphlets and cash were seized from their possession, he added. (BSS)
