Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today directed the judicial officials to give better service to the justice seekers, asking them to follow appropriately the relevant rules, practice directions and other directives while performing their duties.

“I hope you would create examples for other institutions through your good behaviour and better service to justice seekers and their lawyers,” he said in his directional speech to assistant registrars and officials of above ranks at the Supreme Court Conference Room here.

The chief justice issued a 12-point directive to the employees of the Supreme Court. The directives include ensuring service within the quickest possible time, abstaining from any financial transactions while performing duties, avoiding unnecessary delay in service delivery, showing compassionate behavior towards service recipients, completing daily tasks within the day, visiting concerned wings daily and taking disciplinary actions in cases of irregularities and corruptions.

It is to be noted, there are 38 different wings at the High Court Division and 19 at the Appellate Division. Around 2,500 thousands employees are working at the Supreme Court including the registrar general, three registrars, four additional registrars, one special officer, 12 deputy registrars and 20 assistant registrars.
