Firearms looted from police station recovered in Rajshahi

Two firearms and ammunition looted from different police stations in the metropolis after the fall of the previous government on August 5 was recovered here today.

The members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed over the firearms and ammunition to the Chandrima Police Station.

Ismail Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandrima Police Station said the miscreants looted the firearms from various police stations. Members of the local unit of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society recovered a Chinese Rifle, a shotgun and five cartridges of shotguns and handed those to the BGB.

O C Hossain also said the BGB members handed the recovered firearms and ammunition to police today.

Officials of the metropolitan police, BGB and Bangladesh Army were present on the occasion. (BSS)
