Social Welfare Advisor Sharmin S Murshid today said the government will rehabilitate all the injured of the anti-discrimination student movement that launched on the maiden of last month.
“The social welfare ministry will do everything for rehabilitation of the injured persons who participated in the anti-discrimination student movement from the space of morality”, she said.
The social welfare Advisor made this comment while visiting the injured persons of the nation-wide anti-discrimination movement at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) here.
Providing health care services is the prime mandate of the government, she said, adding “we will be an ungrateful nation if we fail to provide safe life to these injured persons.”
Regarding the identification of the participants of the movement, Murshid said “a full-fledged data-base will be prepared with all the injured and deceased of the movement by taking information from the register of the hospital.”
Even the advisor has also requested the injured to provide their information to the media representatives. The ministry will open a cell to this end.
About the memory of the Liberation War, the Social Advisor said “our 1971’s great Liberation War is not forgettable so, the memory of new Bangladesh which was emerged in 2024 also would not be erased.”
“We will not forget the dead…these who gifted us a new Bangladesh, we must give them secured life and needs to bring them back to their own education institutes”, said the advisor.
DMCH Principal Dr Shafiqur Rahman, DMCH’s Deputy Director Dr Md Khalequzzaman, Assistant Director Dr Asharaful Alam, Dr Abdur Rahman and Dr Abdus Samad, among others, were present at that time. (BSS)
