Bangladesh face off India for final fine tune of T20 WC

Bangladesh will have their last opportunity for a fine tune for the T20 World Cup when they take on India in their second and final warm-up game today at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

The match starts at 8.30 PM (Bangladesh Time).

The Tigers’ first practice game against USA was cancelled due to the conditions of the facilities following the adverse weather that has affected the area.

Ahead of the warm up fixtures, Bangladesh conceded a shocking 2-1 loss to USA in the three-match series, which surely made them morally down. They were keen to gain some confidence by defeating USA in the first practice game but weather didn’t permit them to do so.

However, Bangladesh ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan was not fazed by team’s ignominious defeat to USA. Rather he said that Bangladesh still have the chance to do well in this World Cup, considering that they will get home-like advantage from both USA and West Indies, the two countries that will host the tournament.

“I think we’ll get a home-like pitch here in both USA and West Indies. We played in both places and when we earlier played in Florida we did well,” Shakib said in the Green Red Story of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

“The pitches in those two places are similar to what kind of pitch we got back at home. So I hope that we’ll get some advantage.”

India however will be without their star player Virat Kohli who skipped the match to get him fresh ahead of the tournament. India however came to the tournament after a grueling IPL tourney and the match is an opportunity for them to gel together well. (BSS)
