A hotel boy killed after gas cylinder explosion in city

A pedestrian was killed in a gas cylinder explosion at ground floor of a three-story building in the city’s Badda area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Solaiman,36, a hotel boy hailed from Phulbariaupazila under Mymensingh district.

A Housewife also was injured after the incident. She was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

“The accident occurred at former traffic inspector AKM Rahmat Ullah Chowdhury’s house at 4 no DIT road under Badda Police Station at 6.43am”, said fire service and civil defense official (media) Talha Bin Jashim.

After receiving the information, two firefighting units from Baridhara Fire Station rushed to the spot and recovered body of the victim.

Fire services handed over the body to the police.

The primary investigation showed that the incident happened from the leakage gas cylinder blast on the ground floor of the building.

But the it will be confirmed after the investigation, said the fire official. (BSS)
