Bangladesh bat first against USA in first T20

Bangladesh were asked to bat first in the three-
match T20 International series opening game after USA won the toss at Prairie
View Cricket Complex in Huston, Texas today.

The series is Bangladesh’s last opportunity to fine tune for the T20 World
Cup.

Liton Das made room for the match, replacing Tanzid Hasan Tamim as the
management wants him to give enough time to get back to the form.

Fast bowler Shoriful Islam who was rested in the last three matches against
Zimbabwe was back to the fold as a replacement of Taskin Ahmed.

Taskin has been in process for his recovery from the side strain injury,
sustained during the Zimbabwe series. Taskin however was appointed as the
vice-captain of the team as the BCB hopes that he would be available during
the World Cup.

This is Bangladesh’s first ever match against USA in T20 format.

USA, formed with the migrant players mostly, won 4-0 against Canada in their
previous bilateral series in April. Bangladesh meanwhile won 4-1 against
Zimbabwe.
