PM greets Finland’s new PM Petteri Orpo

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today congratulated newly elected Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.

In a greetings letter to Petteri, Sheikh Hasina wrote, “I, on behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, would like to congratulate you on your assumption as the Prime Minister of
Finland”.

According to a press release of the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, she said “I believe that your experience in various capacities, particularly as the Minister of Finance, would play a forwarding role in reflecting your visionary leadership and political wisdom in the new capacity”.

Bangladesh Prime Minister said that the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and Finland has strengthened over the years.

It has also brought the two governments to play mutually supportive roles in various regional and global issues, particularly international peace and security, migration, climate change, women empowerment and sustainable development, she added.

Sheikh Hasina confidently stated, “I am certain that the bond of friendship, understanding, and cooperation existing between our two friendly countries will be further deepened and consolidated in the days ahead”.

She looks forward to working closely with Petteri Orpo in uplifting multidimensional bilateral relations further in order to achieve common prosperity for the two people.

Sheikh Hasina wished the new Finnish Prime Minister’s good health, happiness, and success and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Finland. (BSS)
