forward to restore some lost pride as they face strong
Palestine in their second leg of FIFA World Cup 2026
qualifiers scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at
Bashundhara Kings Arena.
The match kicks off at 3.30pm.
Bangladesh is facing uphill task to keep their qualifying
home alive following their 0-5 lose to Palestine in the earlier
meeting in Kuwait. Bangladesh are in the bottom with a
solitary point and yet to notch any win a game losing
Australia and drown to Lebanon.
Addressing a pre-match press conference held today
(Monday) at Bashundhara Kings arena, Bangladesh national
football team skipper Jamal Bhuyan said they want to forget
the disappointing result of the first match and only focusing
on the second match.
“Yes as the coach mentioned about the disappointing result
of the first match ….. we are looking forward for the second
match…… we have discussed ourselves about the first match
and we have to forget what happened in the last match …
tomorrow is the big day and we are now only focusing the
second match against Palestine.”
The Bangladesh skipper said they don’t want to lose the
second match in front of fans and supporters rather they are
upbeat to play good brand of football as he said the match is
very important for them.
Replying to a question Jamal said March 26 is big day for
Bangladesh and they want to give a gift to the people by
winning the match.
Bangladesh head coach Javier Cabrera said tomorrow is the
big day and we know how important going to be playing in
front of people …. We aspect a good atmosphere once again
in Kings arena because we are still unbeatable in this venue.
The Spanish coach said the confidence has backed after
understanding result of the first game. It was great
experience for all and now the boys are only focusing for the
second match and expect some points.
Earlier, Bangladesh also played two World Cup Qualifier
matches against Australia and Lebanon last year losing 0–7-
defeat against hosts Australia in their away match and drew
1-1 with Lebanon in their home match in Dhaka. (BSS)-
