A colorful cycle rally was organized by Rajdhani Institute of Engineers. Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as part of creating awareness about safe food among all classes of people
S.T.I.R. C project, organized by Bangladesh Safe Food Authority with the cooperation of BD Tourist Cyclist, the rally was held with the young generation of 64 districts to spread the awareness message of non-toxic and clean food production throughout the country for the purpose of National Safe Food Day 2024.
Want health, nutrition and prosperity; Film actor and Honorable Member of Parliament Ferdous Ahmed said this at the rally of ‘National Safe Food Day-2024’ organized by Bangladesh Safe Food Authority under the theme ‘There is no alternative to safe food’. Earlier, he inaugurated the day by flying a pigeon as a symbol of peace.
Speaking as the chief guest at the rally, which started at nine in the morning from the premises of the Engineers Institution in the capital, he said, “Everything will be solved only by punishing the food traders, not like that.” They have to be enlightened.”
Calling on people not to cheat with food, he said, “The food he is selling is being eaten by his family and children and is being taken to school. So people cannot be cheated with food. ”
The goodwill ambassador of Bangladesh Safe Food Authority said, “We have to keep a watchful eye on every place from food production to consumption. Otherwise food can become unsafe anywhere. ”
He expressed the hope of building a dreamy Sonar Bangla of the father of the nation by working from everyone’s place, saying, “Honorable Prime Minister Jannetri Sheikh Hasina is always with us.”
In the rally that ended at the office of Bangladesh Safe Food Authority via Shahbagh, Chairman of the authority Md. Abdul Qayyum Sarkar emphasized on awareness in the special guest speech, “We can make food safe at once through consumer awareness, producer awareness and the awareness of those who process it.”
Besides, he said, “Safe food authorities work in several ways. First is awareness, second is monitoring and the last weapon is punishment. If we don’t work through the first two, we are fined through the mobile court”.
He called traders not enemies of safe food authorities. The special attraction in the rally was to spread the message of food safety in Dhaka city by bicycle. An organization called ‘BD Tourist Cyclist’ spreads the message of safe food in different parts of Dhaka city through about hundred cyclists. President of the organization Md. Aminul Islam Tubbus said, “Getting safe food is everyone’s right. Safe food environment will not be created without everyone’s awareness. In a different way people are informed about safe food mainly through bicycle.

Secretary, Abdun Nasser Khan presided over the event, research officer, Md. Taif Ali, along with officials and employees of the authority, media, representatives of civil society, NGO, social organization workers, a total of five hundred people participated in the rally. National Safe Food Day is also celebrated in the offices through various events. On the occasion of the day, the organization is going to organize ‘Safe Food Carnival-2024’; Which is being organized for the first time in Bangladesh. Around 70 stalls in the carnival organized on February 8-10 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center will present various exceptional events in addition to how to ensure food safety in the preparation and serving of food.
The call to spread the message of awareness around the capital ended at Hotel Intercontinental (BSL Complex).
