World Bank’s country director for Bangladesh and Bhutan Abdoulaye Seck paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here this afternoon.
During the meeting, they discussed issues including various proposed projects in service and infrastructure sectors for Rohingya people, who are staying in Bangladesh temporarily, and the host community, at the WB’s funding, said a press release.
The WB country director lauded the government’s initiative to frame National Logistic Development Policy.
The principal secretary thanked him for WB engagement in the policy formulation.
Tofazzel Hossain sought WB cooperation in the under-implementation and proposed projects for the remonstration of rivers in Dhaka and other parts of the country.
Abdoulaye Seck also extended thanks to PM’s principal secretary for extending all-out cooperation in implementing WB’s current and proposed projects in specified time.
The principal secretary expressed satisfaction over the WB’s activities in extending all-out cooperation to build a Sonar Bangla envisaged by Bangabandhu under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership and also lauded the role of Abdoulaye Seck to this end.
