DMP chief hands over textbooks to students

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman today handed over new textbooks to students of Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College.

He greeted all for the New Year 2024 in the English calendar and said that the new textbooks are Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s New Year gift for students.

Addressing at a function of ‘Textbook Distribution Festival-2024’ at Rajarbag Police Lines as the chief guest, Habibur Rahman said the Prime Minster led incumbent Awami League government started handing over new the books to students on the first day of the year.

“The new textbooks fascinate and amuse children, while the smell of the new books excites children. Pages of new books make them curious,” he said.

Habibur Rahman, also President of Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College, said under the guidance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, cent percent new textbooks have been distributing free of cost among primary level students since the academic year 2010, bearing the emotion of children.

Among others, Imdadul Haque Milon, eminent writer and editor-in-chief of Daily Kalerkantha along with the chief guest handed over new books to students.

Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College was established in 1963. Since its inception, the institution has been contributing education with reputation, the DMP chief said.

“In the future, we will ensure quality and creative education for students. All teachers, all parents and students have to work together for achieving the desire education. It is my hope that this institution can be transformed into one of the top educational institutions,” he added.

Additional Commissioner Ashrafuzzaman, teaching staff of Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College, parents and students were also present at the book festival. (BSS)
