UK inflation drops slightly to 6.7% in August: data

Britain’s inflation rate eased in August, official data showed Wednesday on the eve of an expected Bank of England interest rate hike to tackle elevated consumer prices.

The Consumer Prices Index rose by 6.7 percent last month from 6.8 percent in July, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in a statement. (BSS/AFP)
