Principal Coordinator of SDG Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office Md Akhter Hossain today urged all government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to work together to build a developed and Smart Bangladesh by 2041.
“Bangladesh has made progress in all indicators of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To sustain this progress, greater dynamism and cooperation in the activities of all public-private sector organizations are needed,” he said.
He was addressing a seminar titled ‘Role of NGOs in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh’ at the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) building in city’s Agargaon area as the chief guest, a press release said.
Managing Director of PKSF Dr Nomita Halder gave the welcome speech with Chairman of PKSF Dr Kazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmed in the chair, the release added.
Md Monirul Islam, Additional Secretary (SDG Affairs), Prime Minister’s Office, delivered a presentation on SDG affairs.
Md Moshiar Rahman, Deputy Managing Director, PKSF, also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of PKSF Dr Kazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmed said the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman struggled throughout his entire life to put smiles on the faces of suffering people.
The main philosophy behind all PKSF’s work is to bring smiles to the faces of these suffering people, he said, adding that PKSF is conducting all activities for this purpose. (BSS)
