2 dengue patients die, 161 hospitalized during 24 hrs in Ctg

Two dengue patients have died and a total of 161 were hospitalized at various hospitals in Chattogram during the last 24 hours ended at 3pm today.

Sources in the dengue control room at the district civil surgeon’s office said this afternoon that a total of 161 dengue patients were hospitalized at various hospitals in Chattogram.

Of the total 161 patients, 80 were admitted to various government hospitals and 81 in private hospitals.

The people including the women who died of dengue are Ratna Rani Roy,37 and Emdad Hossian, 31.

Civil Surgeon of Chattogram Dr Mohammad Iliyas Chowdhury said a total of 4,867 dengue patients have been detected in Chattogram during last eight months till August 22 this year and the number of deaths rose to 48 so far.

Of them 2,957 dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals and 1,908 have received treatment in private hospitals.

A total of 4661 dengue patients have recovered and returned to their respective residence, the sources added. (BSS)
