Sale of TCB’s daily essentials begins in Rangpur

Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) launched sale of daily essential commodities at subsidised rates for August-2023 here today as a part of the nationwide program of selling the same among one crore poor families.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mobasswer Hasan inaugurated sale of daily essentials among family card holder low-income group families in a function arranged in the city as the chief guest.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) AWM Raihan Shah, Secretary of Rangpur City Corporation Ummey Fatima, TCB officials and City Councilor for Ward No-19 Md Mahmudur Rahman Titu attended the function.

TCB continues selling daily essential commodities among one crore families across the country in regular intervals in recent years as per directives of the Prime Minister’s Office and Commerce Ministry to keep prices of daily necessities at reasonable levels.

Addressing the occasion, the chief guest said 2,85,312 low income group families of RpCC, eight upazilas and three municipalities of Rangpur district having ‘Family Cards’ are being covered under this program in August like in the previous months.

“Each card holder beneficiary can purchase two-kg of lentils at Taka 60 per kg, two-liters of soybean oil at Taka 100 per litre and five-kg of rice at Taka 30 per kg at a total cost of Taka 470 from TCB dealers across the district,” he added. (BSS)
