Cheques distributed among patients in C’nawabganj

District Social Service Department distributed cheques of Taka 17 lakh among 34 patients with chronic diseases in the district today.

A simple function was arranged on the occasion at the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) with deputy commissioner AKM Galiv Khan in the chair.

Among others, chairman of Chapainawabganj Zila Parishad valiant freedom fighter Md. Ruhul Amin, additional deputy commissioner (General) Ahmed Mahbub-Ul-Islam, deputy director of the Social Service Department Umme Kulsum and medical officer of the civil surgeon’s office Dr. Rakibul Islam spoke at the function.

A total of 193 patients in which 35 in Sadar upazila, 63 in Shibganj upazila, 34 in Chapainawabganj municipality, 28 in Gomostapur upazila, 19 in Nachole upazila and 14 in Bholahat upazila are getting the aids.

A total of Taka 96.50 lakh would be distributed among 84 cancer patients, seven kidney disease patients, one liver cirrhosis patient, 25 stroke-paralised patients, 45 born heart disease patients and 31 thalassemia patients in the district. (BSS)
