Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in some parts of the country, a met release said today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Mymensingh, Rangpur and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi division with moderately heavy falls at some places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions”, it said.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Moulvibazar and it may abate from some places, said the met forecast valid for next 24 hours from 9 am today.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay now lies over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay off North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coast as a well marked low.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, center of the well marked low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 24.8 degrees Celsius at Bandarban.
Country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 23 millimeters (mm) at Satkhira. (BSS)
