11,000 farmers to get incentive for Aman farming in Bhola

A total of 11,000 small and marginal farmers in all seven upazilas of the district will get seeds and fertilizers as agriculture incentive free of cost for the cultivation of Aman paddy in the current season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Aman cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have been increased significantly in the current financial year 2023-24 in the district.

The target of Aman cultivation was fixed on 1,79,200 hectares of land under the programme, Md Hasan Waresul Kabir, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of the district told BSS.

According to the Agriculture Office, the beneficiaries farmers are – 2,000 farmers are in Sadar upazila, 1,020 in Daulatkhan upazila, 1,150 in Borhanuddin upazila, 1,300 in Lalmohan upazila, 780 in Tajumuddin upazila, 4,050 in Charfashion upazila and 700 in Manpura Upazila will get the incentive.

Under the programme, each farmer will get five kilograms of Aman paddy seed, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizers and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.

Deputy Director of the district of the DAE, Md Hasan Waresul Kabir, said distribution work of the incentive among the farmers will begin very soon. (BSS)
