Two more complaints of genocide and crimes against humanity were filed today against Sheikh Hasina and 29 others at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
Parents of two victims filed the complaints through the recently floated National Citizens’ Committee .
Other prominent accused in the complaints are Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Sheikh Fazle Shams Porosh, Saddam Hussain and Sheikh Wali Asif Enan.
“Of the two complaints, one was filed over the killing of Osman Patwari alias Osman Gani on August 4 in North Temuhoni area in Lakshmipur town. A total of 25 people were accused in the complaint. The other complaint was filed against five over the killing of Sakib Hasan at Kazla Petrol Pump area in Kutubkhali area of Jatrabari on July 18,” ICT chief prosecutor Advocate Tajul Islam said.
National Citizens’ Committee spokesperson Samanta Sharmin said the committee is providing legal assistance to the families of the victims to file cases. Martyr Sakib Hasan’s father Md Mortuja Alam and martyr Osman Gani’s father Md Abdur Rahman filed the two complaints with the ICT chief prosecutor’s office.
Allegations of genocide and crimes against humanity under sections 3(2) (a), 3(2) (c), 3(2) (h), 4(1) and 4 (2) of The International Crimes (TRIBUNALS) Act, 1973, were brought against the accused.
Meanwhile, another complaint was filed today at the ICT, over the killing of BAF Shahin College student Ahnaf in Mirpur-10 area on August 4.
Ahnaf’s mother Jartaj Pervin filed the complaint against the unnamed accused, with the ICT chief prosecutor’s office.
“My son was killed following the order of Sheikh Hasina. Now it is the job of the investigation officials to find out who were really involved in the killing,” the grieving mother said. (BSS)
