The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise anniversary of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), is being observed in the port city as elsewhere in the country today with due religious fervor and solemnity.
The Anjuman-e Rahmaniya Ahmadiyya Sunnia Trust in Chattogram City observed the jubilee of “Jashne Julus”, an ostentatious rally of Sunni Muslim, brought on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi – the day of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), today.
On the occasion, the colourful rally was brought out from the city’s Sholosohor Alamgir Khankha Sharif at about 9 am today. The rally was led by Allama Sabbir Shah from Pakistan.
Allama Sayed Mohammad Kashem Shah, from Pakistan participated the rally as chief guest.
Thousands of Muslim devotees from all over the country took part in the Jasne Julush, the organizers said.
On this occasion, extensive illuminations have been made in the city. Much enthusiasm was seen among the common people centering the event.
Advocate Moshab Uddin Baktair, joint convener of the Media Committee said that thousands of people from all over the country arrived in the port city early Monday to take part in the Jasne Julush arranged by Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust after parading the main streets of the city, the rally ended at the Jamia Ahmadia Sunnia Madrasa ground at about 1.30 pm.
Later, they offered a special prayer seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah following a discussion.
Decorated trucks, cars, vans and other vehicles carrying colourful banners, festoons and green flags inscribed with verses of the holy Quran and poetic versions praising the Prophet (SM) were used in the rally.
The rally paraded the city’s Muradpur, Sholoshahar number two no gate and GEC crossing and ended on the Jamia Ahmadia Sunnia Madrasa ground at about 1 pm.
Important road corners and road islands of the city were decorated with big-sized arches, colourful festoons and banners inscribed with Kalema Tayyeba and verses of the holy Quran and Hadith.
Moreover, the National Flag and ‘Kalima Teayiba’ written banners were displayed at the important traffic zones of the port city and the light posts.
Chattogram Metropolitan police took tight security arrangements to ensure peaceful celebration of the Eid-e-Miladunnabi.
Terming the Julus as the biggest religious rally in the world, the Anjuman-e Rahmaniya Ahmadiyya Sunnia Trust Secretary General Mohammad Anwar Hossain said that in 1974, Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadiyya Sunnia Trust took out the first Julus in the history of Bangladesh from Kaderia Syediya Tayyabia at Baluardighi Khanka in Chattogram led by Sayed Mohammad Tayab Shah from Pakistan.
After Syed Mohammad Tayab Shah, his son Syed Muhammad Taher Shah has been leading the Julus since 1986.
Local chapter of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh, Darbar-e-Ishapuri in Fatikchhari, Maijbhandari Gousia Haq Committee, Islamic Front Bangladesh Chattogram city unit, Darul Arkam Academy, Baitush Sharaf Complex, Uttar Kattali Amanat Ullah Shah Para Eid-e-Miladunnabi Udjapon Parishad also organized separate Doa, Zikir Mahfils and discussions to observe the day.
