Country’s both the bourses– Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)– today witnessed an upward trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large-cap issues amid optimism.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 51.37 points or 0.89 per cent to settle at 5,829.70. Two other indices also closed higher. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 10.21 points to finish at 2,021.30 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 11.77 points to close at 1,266.31.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, increased to Taka 4,670.03 million on the country’s premier bourse which was Taka 4,110.85 million at the previous session of the week.
Of the 396 issues traded, 273 advanced, 74 declined and 49 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CENTRALPHL was the most-traded stock, followed by SPCERAMICS, ASIATICLAB, Malek Spinning and Fortune.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also edged higher with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI- rising75.27 points to settle at 16,628.71 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX- gaining 47.49 points to close at 9,998.92.
Of the issues traded, 66 declined, 123 advanced and 22 issues remained unchanged on the CSE trading floor.
The port city’s bourse traded 48.07 lakh shares and mutual fund units with turnover value worth Taka 11.92 crore. (BSS)
