Fake cosmetics factory busted in Rajshahi

Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police busted a fake cosmetics factory in Rajshahi city and arrested its owner last night.

The arrested, Monsur Amin, 45, son of Ruhul Amin of Laxmipur Bhatapara area
under Rajpara Police Station, is also the manufacturer of fake cosmetics,
said a press release issued by the DB in Rajshahi today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB police conducted a drive in a house in
the Bhatapara area of the city around 10:30pm, said Zamirul Islam, additional
deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

During the drive, the DB team found a large number of fake cosmetics and
materials for manufacturing the cosmetics, the RMP official added.

A large number of fake cosmetics worth about Taka 50,000– wrapped in
different domestic and foreign company packages– were seized from the house
while conducting the drive. (BSS)
